The short answer
Do I need a boating license in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma Boating Safety Education Certificate is required for operators 12, 13, 14 or 15 years old running a boat with more than 10 horsepower, a sailboat 16 feet or longer, or a PWC.
Confirm with Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Marine Enforcement Division (Oklahoma Department of Public Safety) ↗Oklahoma's boater education rule targets young operators: anyone 12 through 15 must pass a NASBLA-approved course and be supervised by an adult 18 or older to run a boat over 10 horsepower, a PWC or a sailboat 16 feet or longer. Children under 12 may not operate those vessels at all. Motorized boats are titled and registered with Service Oklahoma for one or three years, with fees based on the boat's value and capped at $151 a year. Children under 13 must wear a life jacket on boats under 26 feet, and the intoxication limit is 0.08 BAC.
